Award Winning Author
While I'm certainly proud to be an award winning author, I'm even more proud of the hundreds of thousands of people around the world that I have helped harness the power of technology to pursue their family history. Through my award-winning book, Google Your Family Tree, as well as scores of articles written for leading genealogy publications worldwide, I've been able to help so many people increase their success in searching for genealogically relevant clues among the billions of pages, images, and documents published online.
The idea of writing a book wasn't actually mine, but came instead came from an elderly gentleman who frequently attended my lectures throughout the New England states. At the conclusion of one lecture in early 2008, he approached me with a question, thanked me for the many tips he had learned, then suggested I write a book because, "You talk so fast and have so many good suggestions, I can't write them all down." We shared a laugh, but while driving home that day, I realized that after nearly a decade of giving presentations about using technology and the Internet for genealogy research, I likely had more than enough material for a useful book.
Shortly after the first edition of Google Your Family Tree was released in November 2008, it received an award as best genealogy reference title from the Connecticut Society of Genealogists. To whatever extent others find my writing style useful, much of that credit belongs to several very good (and patient) college professors and many less-than-perfect articles I wrote for my college newspaper, The Archway.
Since those early articles in college, I've authored countless business proposals, marketing and business plans, nonprofit grant proposals, magazine articles, web pages, and other documents — each with their own unique goals and considerations. If you're looking for an experienced and award winning author to help with your project or organization, I'd enjoy hearing from you. Please contact me at your convenience.
